Stockholm-based Swedish Hasbeens was founded in 2006 by Emy Blixt to reinvent the '70s wooden clog for today. She designs the sandals herself, drawing on inspiration from the original styles worn by models in the '70s, and follows the old Swedish techniques of clog making.
The classic clog is the Swedish Husband, translated to "Bonna Träsko" or Farmer Clog in Swedish. This mule clog is the epitome of '70s fashion.
The wooden sole of Swedish Hasbeens clogs come from Lime trees in European forests. Strictly regulated by the European Union, for each Lime tree that's cut, a new one is planted. The leather used is ecological vegetable-tanned leather. Swedish Hasbeens are made in Romania and Sweden.
No.6 was started by clog and vintage lover Karin Bereson. Her wooden-bottom, handmade clogs and boots enjoy a cult following in NYC where her boutique is based.
